Lynch wins GAA.ie Player of the Week

Mark Lynch’s performance against Dublin at Celtic Park has earned him the title of GAA Player of the Week – an award voted on nationally by the general public on social media (facebook and twitter).

Following the the footsteps of team mate Fergal Doherty, Lynch becomes the second Oak Leafer to win the award in 2014.

The poll was the largest seen in 2014 with the Derry man narrowly beating Dubliner Diarmuid Connolly into top spot.

The results were as follows:

GAA.ie FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

1. Mark Lynch (Derry) – 959 votes (41%)
2. Diarmuid Connolly (St.Vincent’s) – 916 votes (39%)
3. Jason Doherty (Mayo) – 462 votes (20%)
