Caoineadh Chiaráin Mhic Giolla Chainnigh

CiaranKilkennyFootballingINPHO_large

Is breá le lucht leanúna CLG na himreoirí is fearr amach a fheiceáil agus nuair a thagann siad siúd ar cuairt, is tógáil croí a bhíonn ann. Is mó i bhfad an tógáil croí nuair is Curaidh Peile na hÉireann atá i gceist agus an chéad chuairt riamh.

Sin mar a bhí agus Baile Átha Cliath ar cuairt den chéad uair riamh go Páirc na gCeilteach i nDoire Cholmcille. Ach caithfidh mé a admháil gur thromchroíoch a bhí mé nach raibh Ciarán Mac Giolla Chainnigh ar pháirc na himeartha.

Agus ar chúiseanna nach mbaineann leis an pheil amháin.

Ná leis an iománaíocht!

Ní raibh Bernard Brogan ná Diarmuid Connolly ann ach oiread ach seo scéal eile.

Oíche Shathairn roimh an chluiche bhí slua mór déagóirí cruinn ag Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin sa chathair agus iad páirteach i gcomórtas 'Éamann a' Craic'. Comórtas as Gaeilge a mheall ann iad agus ar an ardán bhí drámaíocht, greann, damhsa, amhránaíocht agus cur i láthair as Gaeilge ar fad. Bhain sé le Seachtain na Gaeilge agus tá baint mhór ag Ciarán i mbliana leis an fheachtas.

An dtuigeanna tú, bíonn laochra mar Chiarán de dhíth ar an mhuintir óg le spreagadh a thabhairt agus le suim a chothú sa Ghaeilge. Má tá an Ghaeilge tábhachtach ag réalta spóirt mar é, téann an íomhá sin i bhfeidhm ar dhéagóirí a bheas mar dhaoine fásta amach anseo. Corruair, cuireann sé beaguchtach orm go mbíonn an Ghaeilge in áit na leathphingne, sa CLG féin fiú. Ní mar sin atá le Ciarán.

Sos na Féile Pádraig a bhí ann agus cuid mhaith ach siúd a bhí ar an ardán ag an chluiche is áthas orthu faoi toradh ach bhí cuid againn fosta ag caoineadh Chiaráin Mhic Giolla Chainnigh. Go raibh biseach ort go luath, a Chiaráin, agus ag dúil leat bheith ar do sheanléim.
