9.30 – 10.30: Opening Address ‘Hurling coaching’ – Martin Fogarty

10.30 – 11.30:
Workshop 1 Nursery Coaching Moving Outdoors Ruairi Convery & Ben McGuckin

Derry senior hurling captain and Ulster GAA coach Ruairi Convery along with Ben McGuckin will deliver a practical session to help coaches with the transition from indoors to outdoors when working with young children. Both coaches specialise in working with young children.

Workshop 2 Coaching Under 10s/12s Developing Skills through games Paul Divilly & Kevin Hinphey

Derry senior hurler Kevin Hinphey and Kildare senior hurling captain Paul Divilly will deliver a practical session to give ideas on games to develop hurlers at under 10/12 level. Attending coaches will be asked to get involved in the session . The session will be followed by a discussion on issues that are important when working with children at this stage of development.

Workshop 3 Coaching Teenagers Managing workloads & Attitudes Kevin Kelly & Michael O Grady

Kevin and Michael will deliver a practical session followed by a presentation on the issues faced by coaches working with teams at this age group, including managing busy schedules, club v school v county issues and working with adolescents.

11.30 – 12.00: Tea & Coffee

12.00 – 1.30:

Workshop 4 Senior Hurling Moving Up a Level Martin Fogarty
5 time All Ireland winning coach with Kilkenny. Martin will deliver a session to Derry senior hurling squad and interact with coaches at regular intervals to explain why and how things are done. Opportunity for all coaches to learn from one of the most successful coaches in the history of the game.
