Glens game falls foul to weather

Derry City v Glentoran, Postponed.

The North West woke to a covering of snow this morning and after further snow showers this afternoon, tonight’s game against Glentoran has fallen victim to the weather conditions.

Despite the heavy rainfall and recent mild conditions, snow continues to lie on the ground.  With the forecast predicting further snow showers this afternoon and evening, and the need to alert Glentoran prior to the departure of fans and playing staff, the decision has been taken to call the game off.  No alternative date or time has been fixed for this game.

This is the third of City’s pre-season games to have been called off due to weather conditions, with games against Limavady and Coleraine also falling victim.  So far the new management team has only seen their team get two games, with outings against Institute and Cliftonville.  City are also due to take on a Derry and District select this weekend, with dates and times to be confirmed for that game.
