Kevin Lynch’s served notice of a promising future as they added the T Mackle U16 hurling title to the minor crown captured only a few weeks ago.

In front of a bumper Owenbeg crowd, the Lynch’s virtually sealed the deal in the first half as they raced to a 2-08 to 0-02 interval lead thanks to goals from Ciaran Steele and man of the match John Mullan.

with a mountain to climb, the young Slaughtneil team gave a tremendous display of courage and never-say-die spirit. Bagging three second half goals, they pushed the Lynch’s right to the final whistle causing several anxious moments for the eventual winners in the process.

However, with a strong spine to the team and impressive displays from Corey O’Reilly and Pauric McNicholl, they cleared enough attacks to create the platform for their own forwards to tag on those vital winning points.
