Derry Hurling Development Squads Camp

Next week is an important week for the Derry hurling development squads. There will be a 3 day camp running, Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th August from 10.00 to 1.30 daily. During the camp the players will have a chance to work with different coaches, play a challenge game v Antrim and look at other areas which will help to develop them as hurlers. The camp is for the under 16 panel attached and all final year under 14 hurlers. Players should bring:

  • Packed lunch
  • Outdoor training gear
  • Indoor training gear

On Saturday 31st August the All Ireland tournament takes place in Newry. There will be a final 24 players selected for both the under 16 and under 14 squads  for Saturday. The squads will be selected based on performance during the season and performance during the camp. The programme for Saturday is attached.

All players should bring their ticket money to the camp. All players will still get their gear when it arrives regardless if they are selected for the final squad of 24 for Saturday.

The onus is on clubs to make sure their players know about the camp, have transport sorted and are in attendance. Please let me know immediately of any problems. Thanks, Kevin.
