Derry clubs won an amazing six out the seven disciplines at the Ulster semi-finals of Scór na nÓg on Friday night.
Watty Grahams Glen lead the way with firsts in both Ceili & Set dancing, with Maebh McGirr claiming a final spot in the recitation category. Lavey’s Ballad Group continues to impress and along with the instrumental musicians from St Malachy’s Castledawson they qualified for the Ulster decider. In the solo singing category Slaughtneil’s Therese Mellon outshone the rest to take first place. In a tight competition Swatragh narrowly lost out to an excellent Donegal performance in the Leíriú.
Congratulations to all participants, club culutural officers and all associated with Scór in Derry on such a terrific level of success. The Ulster final takes place on Sat 25 Jan at Silverbridge, Co Armagh.
