The genocidal puritan Oliver Cromwell, believing that God was firmly on his side, gave Irish catholics a simple choice: “To hell or Connaught”. Four hundred years later, the GAA’s Football Review Committee have recommended something similar for one unlucky Ulster county. Only this time no one will be massacred, simply exported into the Connaught championship.
