It has been a memorable year for all those competing and involved in making the 2013 Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup such a success and the quality of matches and talent on show has exceeded all expectations.There has been a record 216 teams taking part and matches which have taken place throughout Derry city and surrounding areas in counties, Derry, Tyrone and Donegal have attracted record attendances.Those record numbers are proof that the youth football tournament continues to grow in strength and popularity and finals day, which will be staged both today and tomorrow, are expected to attract bumper crowds.The finals kick-off with the Mini Soccer showpieces for Under-10s and Under-11s which take place at St Columb’s College from 2 p.m. today.The Under-13 final will then take centre stage at 6.30 p.m. at Institute’s Riverside Stadium.Attention will then turn to the Under-15 showpiece which is scheduled to take place at the Limavady Showgrounds at 7 p.m.There promises to be a significant crowd at the Brandywell Stadium at 7 p.m as the Lone Moor Road venue stages the Under-19 final before the Under-17 decider takes place in Ardmore at 7.30 p.m.Saturday’s FinalsTomorrow then brings the conclusion of the Under-12, Under-16 and Under-18 competitions with the highly anticipated finals which will take place at the Brandywell Stadium from 12 noon.

THE biggest and most successful Foyle Cup tournament in its 22 year history draws to a close this weekend as the remaining teams engage in a battle for silverware in Finals Day.
