Memoirs and observations from rural County Derry

GAA volunteer and author, Seamus McRory, launches 'The Dove of Peace' – A Memoir of Poetic Recollections at The Elk Toomebridge on Monday October 28th 2013. Seamus has extended an open invitation to all GAA members and the entire Derry community to this event.

The publication recalls The Troubles, growing up in rural County Derry, Boarding school in Armagh, College in Belfast, Derry's famous 1993 All Ireland football triumph, tributes to Nobel Laureates John Hume, Seamus Heaney and Tyrone icon Cormac McAnallen, form the centrepiece of a collection of forty personal memories, experiences and observations.

Seamus McRory was born in Lissan, South Derry, and is the author of several books, including 'The Voice from the Sideline: Famous GAA Managers' (1997).
